Minimally Invasive Procedures

Minimally invasive procedures are a great entry point for patients who are interested in facial rejuvenation treatments but may not be ready for surgical procedures. These nonsurgical cosmetic treatments offer extremely flexible options to restore a youthful appearance without the need for surgery.

Whether you are looking for botox injections, facial fillers, laser treatments for the skin, or any other form of non-surgical facial rejuvenation option, we have you covered. At Greco MD, we offer patients a wide variety of surgical and non-surgical treatment options to suit their specific needs.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser skin rejuvenation options help revitalize facial skin using a laser to treat minor flaws and stimulate the skin to repair itself. Laser treatment can be used to safely remove wrinkles on the face, including those around the mouth and eyes.

Laser treatments can dramatically improve pigmentation, reduce wrinkles, and improve skin tone. The primary purpose of carbon dioxide (CO2) laser is in significantly rejuvenating sun-damaged skin. However, it may also treat pre-cancerous skin lesions while rejuvenating the skin.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is a type of skin resurfacing that is used to treat acne scars and any other form of facial scaring. During the treatment, a wire brush or a diamond wheel with rough edges is used to remove and level the upper layers of skin, encouraging new skin growth.

Usually, multiple sessions of dermabrasion may need to be performed along with scar revision for the best results. However, it is important to remember that while this treatment can improve scarring, it is not possible to remove scarring completely.

Injectable Neuromodulators (BOTOX)

Injectable neuromodulators (neurotoxins) are used to soften fine lines and wrinkles formed from the movement of muscles in the face and neck areas. With age, facial expressions, such as frowning, squinting, smiling, and raising the eyebrows, can all result in dynamic wrinkles forming.

Neuromodulators are purified proteins produced from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. When injected into the face, it relaxes the muscles that produce dynamic wrinkles.

Even though they are all often simply referred to as BOTOX, Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify® are all FDA-approved products used in the treatment of dynamic lines and wrinkles and offered by Dr. Greco.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin to “fill in” and soften crease lines, enhance facial contours, and minimize signs of aging. Dermal filler treatment is a minimally invasive procedure to replace lost volume, smooth wrinkles, plump thin lips, and restore a youthful appearance.

Most dermal fillers have been approved by the FDA for correcting nasolabial folds. However, they are often used in an “off-label” capacity in other areas of the face.

Kybella for Double Chin

Kybella® is the first FDA-approved injectable medication for the treatment of a double chin. Kybella® is helpful for patients with moderate to severe submental fullness caused by a significant collection of fat cells below the chin.

Kybella® is a tool to address submental fat below the chin area and should only be administered by medical professionals trained and experienced in its specific use. When performed skillfully, it may be an effective solution for people who are good candidates and desire a contoured profile.

Hand Rejuvenation

Hand rejuvenation procedures are indicated for clients who experience volume loss or visible aging of their hands. These procedures are non-surgical and can be performed using fat grafts, calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) fillers, hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, chemical peels, and lasers.

Dr. Greco recommends the use of injectable fillers, such as Radiesse® or Voluma®, for hand rejuvenation procedures.

Removal of Varicose Veins Around the Eyes (Ophthalmic Varicosity)

Varicose veins are enlarged, swollen, and twisted veins that commonly occur in the legs but can also develop in other parts of the body, including the face. When varicose veins occur around the eyes, they can be cosmetically unappealing and contribute to the appearance of dark circles.

A minimally invasive procedure called excision of ophthalmic varicosity is used to remove varicose veins around the eyes.

During the procedure, the area is first numbed with a local anesthetic. Several tiny incisions are then made so Dr. Greco can access the swollen vein (varicosity) and cauterize it.

Downtime is usually minimal with this procedure. After the procedure, patients may experience some swelling, bruising, or tenderness, which typically resolves within a few days.

This simple procedure can significantly improve the appearance of the eye area and alleviate any associated symptoms of varicose veins.

PRP Therapy for Hair Loss

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for hair loss is a minimally invasive procedure used to promote hair growth and improve hair density. It is particularly useful for those with hair thinning or balding.

During PRP therapy, a small amount of the patient's blood is extracted and processed to concentrate the platelets. A topical numbing cream is used on the area to be treated, and the platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the scalp in the areas of hair loss.

Downtime is usually minimal with PRP therapy, and you may feel mild tenderness in the treatment area for a day or two.

PRP therapy can be an effective treatment for:

  • Stress-related or post-traumatic hair loss
  • Female pattern baldness
  • Androgenetic Alopecia (genetic)
  • Alopecia Areata (autoimmune disorder)

It may also improve clinical symptoms for some cases of cicatricial alopecia (scarring of hair follicles).

It should be noted that those with large areas of baldness and long-standing baldness, may not see improvements in hair regrowth. However, the procedure could help prevent further hair loss.

The number of treatment sessions needed varies from patient to patient. Some patients may need several sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. All patients have a follow-up appointment 4 to 6 weeks after the first treatment to check on progress. Results are assessed at this time to determine if more treatments are necessary.
