Dysport®

Dysport® is a minimally invasive, FDA-approved treatment used to temporarily improve the look of expression lines, including frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow's feet. It is injected into the face to relax the facial muscles responsible for creating dynamic wrinkles, and can only be dispensed in a medical practice. Our patients from New Jersey and Philadelphia choose this BOTOX® Cosmetic alternative for effective, temporary, non-surgical softening of wrinkles and frown lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Dysport used?

Dysport treatments are administered in units in much the same way that most medications are administered, in milligrams. Each of our Dysport patients receives a customized treatment and dosage. During your consultation, Dr. Timothy M. Greco will determine the amount needed to treat your areas of concern. The key to a successful treatment is to administer enough units to dramatically improve dynamic wrinkles while maintaining a natural expression to the face. Static wrinkles may be improved with the use of dermal fillers.

What should I expect after treatment?

Dysport usually begins to achieve noticeable results about 2 to 5 days after treatment. You will return 2 weeks after your initial visit for a follow-up evaluation. At this time, additional units of Dysport may be injected to achieve the desired result.

Does an injection hurt?

When Dysport is injected there is an initial minor stinging sensation for a few seconds. Once the injection is complete, there is minimal discomfort.

Where can Dysport be injected?

The most common areas are the frown lines between the eyebrows, the horizontal forehead lines, and the crow's feet. Dr. Greco is also using Dysport more in the lower face to complement filler injections.

How long does a Dysport treatment last?

Our Dysport patients see results lasting 4 months, at which time another injection is required. After continued treatments, results may begin to last longer, sometimes up to 6 to 8 months. Improvements from dermal filler injections can be prolonged when performed along with Dysport since the facial muscles in the area are suspended.

Are Dysport treatments for everyone?

There are very few restrictions regarding Dysport treatments. Patients who are pregnant or have certain neurological diseases should not be treated. This will be discussed during your consultation with Dr. Greco.
